MEET THE CANDIDATE
ElenaRose Villali
For the past 12 years, I have been fortunate to call Highlands home.
Over those years, I’ve come to deeply appreciate what makes our town so special—from its coastal charm and unique character to the close-knit sense of community that makes Highlands feel like much more than simply a place to live.
As a local resident and business owner, I have had the opportunity to get to know many of the people who make up our community. Giving back is an important part of how I believe a local business should operate, and I value the opportunity for my business to participate in efforts that support and give back to the greater Bayshore area.
My decision to run for Borough Council comes from a genuine desire to become more involved in the community I call home. I’m a resident, a neighbor, and a local business owner who believes that the voices of the people who live here should be heard and considered when decisions are being made about our future.
I believe good local government begins with listening. That means being approachable, asking questions, hearing different perspectives, and making sure residents feel they have a voice in the conversations that affect their neighborhoods, families, businesses, and quality of life.
My priorities include accountability for public officials, better storm preparation, support for local businesses and exploring after-school programming for young children ages 2–4. I want to bring new energy and ideas to these conversations while respecting the history, character, and coastal charm that make Highlands the community we love.
Most importantly, I want residents to know that I am here to listen. I want to hear your concerns, your ideas, and what you believe our community needs. I believe the best ideas often come from the people who experience our town every day.
Highlands is our home. By listening to one another, working together, and putting the voices of residents at the center of the conversation, I hope we can continue building a stronger community for everyone.
